# Tax2gas Implementation ## Introduction ### Team Members * Jockey Jockey (Senior Developer) * Code Lover (Senior Developer) *Both developers are being KYCed by solidproof.io (pending, KYC status will be updated in the commonwealth post)* ### Experience * Participated designing a protocol for a new Cosmos chain. * Built out modules for the chain.-Created third-party services rooted in the developed blockchain. * Worked on connecting chains using Gravity Bridge module. ### Github Profiles * [Jockey Jockey](https://github.com/SuperSmile0426) * [Code Lover](https://github.com/swordEdge) ### Proposal Overview We propose to implement the tax2gas approach on Terra Classic in close collaboration with StrathCole (for concept and support) and Genuine Labs (especially for e2e testing). The idea of tax2gas implementation was outlined in and approved through governance via [proposal #11873](https://station.terra.money/proposal/columbus-5/11873) ## Development Plan ### Phase 1: Research (2 weeks) * In-depth research on how codebase is architectured and how the current tax/gas system is implemented. * Analyze the current PoC code for the tax2gas. ### Phase 2: Development (3 weeks) * Initial Design - Design how to implement Tax2gas. * Code Modification - Modify the codebase to merge tax into the gas fee. This involves adjusting how fees are calculated and charged. * Code Refine and Integration - Refine the modified code to find potential issues, then integrate it into the main codebase. ### Phase 3: Basic Testing and Deployment (1 week) * Unit Testing - Verify that individual components of the modified code function as expected. * Integration Testing - Verify that the modified components work correctly when integrated with the rest of the codebase. * Bug Fixing - Identify and fix any remaining bugs or issues. ### Estimated Timeline and Budget * Duration: 6 weeks. *Due to unforeseen challenges in the implementation, work time can be extended by at most 2 weeks.* * Total Budget: $24,000. ### Payment terms * $5,000 upfront payment on passing of this proposal. * $9,500 after approx. 4 weeks (spend proposal will be created after first weeks of implementation phase) * $9,500 after all work is completed (spend proposal will be created on successfully completing outlined tests)
